The unofficial-official NateDiesel coast to coast thread of awesomeness.
hah maybe next summer a cost to cost NDFC meetup.
I think almost 5,000 miles in 17 days will be plenty for a while!
Good advice, thanks. This is the kinda info i'm looking for.
Sweet man, yeah be great to meet up with a few ppl as we go.
Hahahah single mom on a pole.
This would be fantastic, 20 days gone from my territory(work) has me stressed out enough though.
I've done 405 and 415 miles on my CBR two days this summer. So I know I can do it. Problem is they're all BACK to BACK to BACK long days. the really long days are in more flat open spaces between spots though, so hopefully its not as bad. Plan is to leave in the mornings and take our times with the travel, but we will see.
And as far as the bikes go, two friends have shipped bikes. its cheaper the more you have, but they take care of all the storage etc. put blankets and strap them down etc for you.
I imagine I won't want to look at the bike for a couple weeks after the trip anyways Theo
you can put new tires on her and bring her back for me.
Go to pnwriders.com and ride44.com for info on good routes as well as current conditions. If your coming down the coast on hwy 101, hwy 34 east from Waldport Oregon is killer, and then you can ride up Mary's peak road. Would be about an hour, two hours out of your way depending on how hard an fast you ride.

Looks like a lot of fun. You have some really long days at 500+ miles. I have done ~250 on a long ride day (backroads) so I can only imagine what roughly double that would be.
Have you worked out how you will ship your bikes back? I have shipped cars but not bikes. Do you have to have them crated?
