Unfortunately, it also has its share of gravel, runoff, inattentive drivers, and vengeful turkeys.

yeah...these roads have alot of slow switch backs and tight off camber turns to make it fun...

yea mang...i may be in BW in march as well.
i love that track!?!?!
how far are you coming down? if just to LA area, then definitely Angeles Crest Highway but be UBER careful...cops and psychos and squids...lots!
i would say that since you're already down, hit up San Diego Roads like Palomar but same type of people there, but once you head further east, much less people...and hit up Banner Grade and Montezuma Pass! Also, highway 74 into palm springs!
Ortega highway in Orange County is OVER RATED...it's aight...
Let me know when you come down and if i can get away i'll ride with you. if not i can give you directions...there are some good roads like the mountain roads...but mang...may have snow or gravel on them.

I'm planning on around April or May...planning on taking a week off to do a SoCal run...will the roads be clear by then?...I'll be taking a group with me about 10...you're very welcome to join us and maybe lead for us...
We're planning to ride all the way to Valencia on back roads twisties spend a night there...and hit Angeles...here's my plan...Up Hwy 2 off 210 > 138W > and come down Little Tujunga rd...now question?...isit better to start on front side or back side?...i chose the back side cuz from the map they seems to be more twistier and opens up on 138...
on next day since we're already down there...we'll do a Santa Monica Mtn loop and hit the SoCal coast...
San Diego seems a little too far tho but never know...
Hell Yeah...can't wait...

those malibu roads are too short and dirty for me to run all the way there.
i stick to the inland roads which i feel are better and cleaner and more worth my time as i'm about the same distance from those roads as i am from the SD and Riverside roads, which are much longer and worthwhile.
yea i know it's a trek and a half...but seriously...the SD roads will not disappoint you...nor well the 243 and 74 to palm springs...
do ACH though...that's nice road...but lotsa crashes.
