Default A Few Recent Rides

Well i got a Contour HD recently so I finally get to record my rides.

This was my first recording with the cam. Had it mounted to the helmet which i didn't like watching very much after the fact. Makes it look boring. It was Mullholand Dr. in Malibu CA. I managed to mistype the year on the video too. It was in 2011 not 2001. lol

Next is Ortega Hwy with the cam mounted on the gas tank. Much better i believe.

Lastly, this one is put together with different adventure that happened just riding errands around town. Pretty funny. The story behind it.....
K, so early in the morning i'm heading on Newport Blvd about to jump on the 55N. I come to the light and there's already a bike waiting. You can see him to the right as i stop. This guy sees me stop and then 2 more bikes come to a stop behind him. He looks at all of us and just gets really excited. Like Yee-Haa hillbilly excited. Starts screaming with excitment and then............... Ruff Ryders??!?
He speeds off and does some more silly stuff..

Well that was a good start.. Next i'm getting on the 57N from the 22E. At some point it becomes appearant that there's an accident ahead. Well I'd say it was a little more than the average accident. No one looked hurt so on that!

Lastly, I'm comming back on the 57S and merge on the 22W. As i merge i notice one of the newer Dodge HWY patrol cars. We get on the 22W and this guy is not driving like a granny or anything... doing up to 77 when traffic allowed. I end up settling 1 car behind him. A Lexus was in between us. So we're doing about 73mph and a toyota truck goes by closer to 80mph up until he gets next to the Dodge, realizes he's CHP and cools off and falls behind a bit. I find it funny that the CHP doesn't notice. A few minutes later a Camry zooms by for sure doing 80mph and same thing, slows down right next to him and slows down. I have another chuckle. Then, after all that, the Lexus that was in front of me this whole time decides to put the icing on the cake. He starts or finds themself tailgating the CHP. The problem is he/she doesn't let off and at the first chance pulls right next to the chp and then continues to speed away. Well the rest is history..

maybe change to a clear for video days...

how do you like that camera? it shoots nice video thats not so wide angle like the gopro. isnt it smaller than the gopro as well? i am trying to figure which way to go in a camera.

the camera is great so far. i haven't used a go pro so can't really compare. i do know this one is more compact and has less "wind resistance." most people say the picture quality is better on the go pro..... so i guess it's a give and take. i think there's some youtube videos out the comparing the picture side by side between 4 cameras, gopro and contour being 2 of them. it's pretty cool, they compare it during the day, the night, in the sun, away from the sun, sound and everything. you can make the best decision based on that.

i'm sure the picture i'm putting out could be better as well but i'm using very basic editing and am probably not taking full advantage of what could be done.....
