I'll keep working on her. I don't mind, if no one else does. Any idea on the travel plans? Overnight stops, time frame of travel, towns, etc...Also, I've been looking at tank bags but I am wondering if they get in the way on aggressive corners? I like to have a map in front of me as I ride. Tapped inside of my visor is not working to well..LOL

 

lol .. there are no over night stops . its 9 hours from Austin texas . i'll have a map on me .. i rember most roads and stuff by memmory .. when it comes to maps i'm pretty good about rembering what i need .. but i always have a map on me just in case . if your go back a few pages i have pretty much set out the plans for from leaving point tell going home point

yea sunbeam there going good .. plan right now is to meet up in Austin ( for the northern and eastern/southeastern ) ppl and then head toward fort Stockton... we will pickup rasco on I-10 in SA . then all the other guys we will all meet in fort Stockton. (will be in fort Stockton about 7pm-9pm fri.) get up about 8 or 9 am sat. ride all day . get some sleep .. get up Sunday ride to Carlsbad caverns spend the day there .. ride back to big bend .. head home monday . your looking at about 400 bucks round trip there and back . ( thats if your one way trip is 500miles) what i really need to know is the guys that are going . how many are really gonna ride down there and how many plan on just trailering the bike down there ? i really want to ride but if most ppl are just gonna trailer there bike down there . then i'll have a truck and trailer .. i can haul about 3 bikes total . and if that happens i have 2 guys from the waco area that i would split the ride with. .. but its up to what everyone wants to do . from Austin to fort Stockton the last time it took us about 9 hours . that was doing 80 on highway 290 and 90 on I-10 so .. just to give you guys a head up . as far as the hotel goes . when we all meet up everyone pays then . before anything. we will find one person to hold the money and that person is gonna be in charge of making sure the room is paid for ! or rooms .

I show 9 hours from Rowlett, but that does not include traffic. What time did you plan on leaving Waco?

 

Even if I can't go, if you guys are going through SA anyway, I should take you out to PR37, but we can discuss that later.

 

last year we cut across 290 and merged with I-10 cut down on the miles. ummm i plan on being in austin by 8-9am so i'll beleaving here about 7-8am here . i'v been telling all the dallas guys that if they want to come down thur. or thur. night they can stay at my apt. and we can leave and head down there in the morning. but its up to y'all ... and bs rosco ..your going ! said and done!!! start saving now :P

 

gonebroke . it might be faster for you to just get on 20 and follow it down to monahan and then cut down right in to fortstockton
heck ... man .. lets see .... where would everyone becoming from ? i know gone -rowlett rasco-SA me -Waco ( maybe 1 or 2 more from waco) i have one from houston, i was just looking now .. i can take some back roads to fortstockton and shave 100 miles off my trip if i do that ...... says it will take about 6 hours but i know it will be more then that .. stupid country roads and there speed traps ... i might re amp this meet up and go .. i might just have everyone take off from where they live and take the fastest way in ! that way where not all so tired that first day !!!!

 

I was thinking that as well. It's a strait 7 hour shot to Ft Stockton down I20. I guess being all highway it is pretty boring anyway. So far from my neck of the woods there are 2 (including myself). I have been trying to gather up more but it seems I know a lot of pansies that are afraid of a road trip. Are we discriminating against what types of bikes are going?? Are cruisers welcome?

 

anyone that wants to come man . i got one guy from the gstwins.com forums ( suz. 500cc bike ) he was one that went with me the last time . he said hes game to go again . we where supose to go this year .. but it fell through .... but yea mean .. anyone is welcome . its somthing thats fun for everyone .. i heard about big bend from a guy that i use to work with .. him and the yamahahaha cruiser guys do what they call the poler bear run .. its in jan. i think . they run down there stay the weekend and come back ... so .. i'm not a discrimanater :P
