There are a hundred ways to make this round trip to Phoenix and back. Going to meet the wife for a Grand Canyon experience, then I am riding back, she is flying, as she does not ride.

Any route suggestions??

 

You are brave. I made a 3 hour trip on my RR last weekend and my back still hurts. What kind of bike do you have?

I used to live in Oregon. Have you rode all the way along 101 yet. Very beautiful.

 

If you have time, hit hiway 36 out of Fortuna to Redbluff in CA. Its 140 miles of motorcycle bliss!

 

Also try to go through Lassen Volcanic National Park. Its a good ride. I know that you will above 10,000 feet and its full of scenary. Might get a little cold when you start to get up in elevation, but it was a great ride!

 

I ride a 2004 CBR 1000RR.A Sargents seat really makes a difference. I have a tank bag, tail bag, and a back pack, that's it. I can not wait. Thanks for the advise. I am hearing though to wait till June as May will be too cold in some parts

 

if you are going north out of phoenix to the canyon, turn off the 17 freeway at hwy 179 west into Sedona. at Sedona go North on the 89 through Oak Creek Canyon into Flagstaff. from there you head up 180 all the way to the town of Grand Canyon. Awesome ride!!
