Default Utah, Wyoming, and Montana ride

My brother had never ridden Chief Joseph Highway, Beartooth, or the Going To The Sun road, so we decided to make it a trifecta last week.

US 150 through the Uintas in Utah seemed like a good start, a great road in its own right.

Thanks Demon. Temps were about perfect, mid 70s to low 80s for most of the ride. Hit a little rain in Wyoming over Beartooth into Montana, but it didn't last.

Love those pics! That's a real testament to the old Honda too, so capable next to some popular newer touring bikes. It's the best of both worlds plus it's a CBR!

Looks nice. I'll be that area in 7 days for a 15-day vacation (Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Jackson). We rented a mountain cabin at 8,200 ft for the first week. We're driving, so no bike, but I'm looking forward to lots of hiking and scenic views. These pics give me something to look forward to.

I like the variety of bikes making the trip.

They were. It was the classic dilemma, slow down and enjoy the scenery, or concentrate on the road and have some fun. On this trip there was enough time to do both.

I agree. 24 years old and almost 70,000 miles and it still compares favorably to newer bikes.

I'm sure after this trip you'll want to go back on a bike.

I do too. Makes it more interesting than when it is all Harleys, or Goldwings or BMW GS's.

Yes, but on a pedal bike. I met with some old friends who are pedaling from Canada to Mexico right now. I would have loved to join them in their adventure and rode over some of the mountain passes that they're doing.

We're into the second week of our vacation now. We moved from the Yellowstone area to Jackson, WY. Did some whitewater rafting on the Snake River today. Tomorrow is planned for hiking in the Grand Tetons.

Here's a pic of when we were still in the Yellowstone area after we hiked to the 10,243 ft summit of Mt. Washburn. On a clear day you can see the Grand Tetons over 70 miles away.
