Bucket List - Key West Ride.
I am thinking aloud here... I really enjoyed the Dragon Ride that I went on. So I know that a lot of bikers do ride down to Key West Fl.
Is there any others out there that would like to meet up and do this ride. I would like to stay off the interstates mostly on the way down. Interstate on the way home is different.
Anyone Interested on this ride or just meeting up on the way down. I will have to stop by the Dragon and the Skyway. Maybe hit Savanna Ga.

Ah, Key West. I remember riding there and back from St. Louis in October 1982 on a single cylinder 500cc enduro. I took $210 cash with me (no credit card back then) and had a blast. The bike got 65 mpg and I alternated between camping out in corn fields and mooching off friends for a night or two along the way.
I stopped at the World's Fair in Knoxville, Disneyworld two days and, of course, Key West. Once I arrived at Key West I didn't want to come back home and several people I talked to down there said that's why they stayed.
One highlight I remember on the way back home is I had accumulated quite a toll road bill by the time I got back to Orlando. As long as I stayed on the toll highway I didn't have to pay it. Since I'd planned on spending a few nights with friends in Orlando and going to Disney I had to exit so I scouted out a side road across a field about a mile before the toll booth and made my own exit by partially kicking down a barb wire fence. I left the toll card on the fence post.
I got back home 14 days after I started with $1.65 left. Oh, the good old days of carefree single living and no bills.
