Because its AMA, and they know AMA is for rookies. Which is why Ben Spies isnt gonna stand a snowballs chance in hell when he steps up to Rossi....=-)

MotoGP is where its at, all the REAL talent resides over in the GP.......Hey dont feel bad, because Slozuki is having problems of their own also.....=-)

Spies wont be facing off with Rossi. Spies is entering SBK, not MotoGP. And, according to the last pretest result, he is less than a tenth of second off the leader in lap times and has second fastest times. I think we will see a new american champion in SBK this year.

And to call the AMA for rookies when Ben Spies ( a Rookie as claim) raced in MotoGP on a totally new bike, new tires, new suspension, basically everything different. Still managed to place 5th with only a few outings on the bike and had a few of his later laps right on time with Rossi. If Spies does go to MotoGP in a year or two, I think he will suprise a lot of people. Im not taking anything away from Rossi, I think Rossi is the man, but to say Spies is a rookie is just ignorant. Spies will be on top within a year or two.... guranteed.

I cant wait for this years MotoGP to start. I think we are going to see one of the most competitive MotoGP seasons in a long time. I think your going to see battles for the lead a lot more this coming season.

Well I hope DMG will get some sponsors to get some bikes out on the track... I guess like MotoGP & NASCAR, sponsors will the main focus v/s the actual manufactures. I hate if its like the old Super Stock, 20+ Suzukis & 1 Honda...

I do agree Spies is a good rider & I think he will be compettitive in SBK & if he was in MotoGP he would be in the top 10.

FWIW, I'm glad Spies went to WSB. It's better for American racing, helps with prestige. Perhaps when they see how good he is, more riders from overseas will want to get into American Racing. Or perhaps American Racing will be a stepping stone to WSB, WSS, et al.

Thanks Ben for taking one for the team. Hope you still get your GP ride after a WSB title or two.

actually the only factory team on board is yahama in the ama. and i see why there are with the new engine it looks like yahama will be on top. as far as honda they have pull out of almost all of the racing investments except for moto gp. there spokesperson has said that will be there main focus. if your wondering why all the factory teams are pulling out check this out and tell me you would want to invest in this racehttp://208.112.100.230/assets/2009_A...egulations.pdf
the new cycle world has a story about it, it is in the ben spies gxsr article which somewhat states that there will most likely be alot of engine failure because of these new rules.
