The car is what... fifteen seconds faster? Champ Car is not even the fastest four-wheel racing out there.

In case you think comparing Champ Cars to bikes is cheating, a Corvette C6-R gets around Laguna in 1:17.

If you think comparing a Corvette C6-R to a MotoGP bike is cheating, you're retarded. MotoGP bikes are the pinnacle of their sport. C6-R is not even close to the pinnacle of its sport.

Just thought I'd throw it out there.
The more corners the track has, the more of a difference there will be in the times.

But I do admit there's some cars out there that are capable of taking off on a normal bike, but those are special cars, and I don't think you'll find many special bikes getting roasted by typical cars.

Where I come from, beating a 1000 in a car is an acomplishment. That is the true measure of a street car to me. Bikes will always be faster on the street but if you've got the right car and the right power its always feasable.

thought this was interesting. my car and my old 1000rr were pretty even on the track (except for the straights). its a fully built TT Evo 8. 500whp, complete racing suspension, gutted, caged, carbon body..

difference is..

evo cost probably 5x the amount of the bike to build.

i would rather have a bike, just as much fun but more involved in the actual riding

Bikes do have the edge durring slower speed acceleration, but I've seen many cars that pull up top much harder then bikes do. Look up bike 1/4 mile times and trap speeds. The times are quick, but the speeds are slower then a car would be at the same time.
