The market is rebounding (for now -bear market rally) but the economy is not. Demographics in america show that we are moving into a 15 year period in which there are many more older folks who are either agressively saving for retirement (not spending) and retiring folks than there are youger spending folks. I'm afraid that we (the U.S.) is the 800# gorilla that is going to take everyone down. In other words, the baby boom is slowing their spending way down. The next generation is much smaller. They can't afford to buy 35% more crap to make up for the growing number of savers.

To show how naive I am, Zemke got 8mil a year? Wow, must be nice to play all day and get paid for it. I wonder how much Duhamel went down to keep on the team.

I don't know how much he got from Erion, but I doubt it's 8Mill. Basically that's why they decided not to run 3 bikes in 08 (?) when Hodgson came aboard.

Well, for example of Corona Extra, they could just give some teams bikes & parts & let the team cover the rest of the expenses... But to totally pull out I think isn't a good thing. Heck, give all the privateers Hondas...

Why do we have a Suzuki Cup, GSXR Cup and SV Cup, but no equivalent Honda series in the US? It's because they don't care to sponsor racing in the US. Even KTM worked with Red Bull to try and put something together to get some American presence in the future of MotoGP. You would think that a company as big as Honda could afford to pull that off. KTM is just an itty-bitty company comparatively.

Honda is after the glory, not the grassroots. Sorry kids.

I think it would be nice for Honda Racing to explain their reason & even have a Blog or something where they will answer fans & riders quetions... If there is a place someone share the site.

Well when they pulled out of AMA Superbike, they said 'Global Economy'.

Honda may want to focus on Moto2. I don't know how to economics works out though with no American series support.
