Im thinking about buyinga usedTecknik leather jacket from guy in my area. He claims it was only used twice which is my only premise for wanting ANY used gear in the firstplace. Anyhow, he wants $200 for it, and claims it's $400 new.I'll probably go check it out, but I'm unsure if it's worth buying.

Does this seem like a good deal?I know nothing about Technik's. Plus I'd just like to hear some opinions on this whole idea.

 

Teknics quality is top knotch. What model is it tho? I've not found no $400 Teknic jackets, tho $200 isnt bad.

 

The guy couldn't give me a name or model for the jacket, but he said it's very high quality.He claims itcost him $450 at the store. I cant find much on the internet in the way of Technik jacket...

Their stuff is top quality. I have their older Lightning jacket and 1-pc suit. The armor in the knees, knees, and shoulders are really thick.

 

I have a teknic lightning jacket, its a nice jacket, I like my new icon jacket better, but teknic makes good gear.

 

+1 Teknic makes great gear. I've had their Violator stuff since a year after it came out. (around 1996) I got a new Violator jacket a couple years ago and some Speedstar gloves. A month ago I got their $300 sport pants for ridiculously low price at BikeBandit.com and they're really nice.

The way I see it, I could have spent an extra $100 on equivalent Alpinestars gloves, but that's more money I can spend on suspension components, a new helmet, a Corbin seat, etc.

 

I have this model whatever it is and it is excellent. Very durable and I fell real safe with it on, though I do burn up in it when its hot. Thinking about getting a mesh one.

I can def. say that Teknics stuff provide great protection with tough leather. I've been down twice at the track in my Teknic Violator suit and no holes so far, just some scuffs on the leather, all the seams are still strong
