Default Shoei X-11 Cracked Hinge

Hadan X-11 for several months now and I love it. However, Earlier tonight I removed all liners and cheek pads etc and washed it all. Upon snapping it all back in and putting the visor back on, I noticed that the left side visorhinge is cracked, near the sliding thing to lock in the visor. There's a 1" long crack near the spot where the visor pivots around and goes all the way to the edge. The visor is still firmly in there, but I can wiggle it and the crack will open more once forced. Has anyone else experienced a cracked hinge on a Shoei? I wouldn't expect this on a $600 helmet.
In the meantime, I'll pull a hinge off my old RF-1000 and use that, I'm sure it's the same piece since they both use the same shileds.
That's another thing, I don't swap shields too much since I don't ride at night very often. Upon heavy swapping, I might expect this, but I usually just leave my smoked shield on there.
I'm definately calling Shoeiabout this on Monday, hopefully they'll send me a new one under warranty without any problems.

Update: Called Shoei today and they're sending out a pair (L/R) of the hinge mechanisms for free under warranty. At first they wanted me to send in the whole helmet thinking it was either crashed in or dropped and they wanted to inspect it. I said no, it's a manufacturing defect, and they were cool with that.

Good to hear, I've heard Shoei had good warrenty coverage, fortunately I've never had to use it, let us know how easy/difficult it is to install the new hinges.

It's really easy. There's just two screws (plastic screws) on each side andthey come right off. I had them off the other day to verify part numbers for the replacement. Hopefully I'll get them soon. Still works ok, but I'm afraid if wind catches the visor it mayfly off.
