Default Shoei size

Might be buying a Shoei rf-1000 but there are no stores close to try one on for size. My melon measures 22"1/4 by their measuring system, so do you think a small would fit best?? What size are your heads that fit small or mediums?
Thanks

First of all great choice you won't be dissapointed. With personal experience (i own a shoei rf1000) they run big, my MX helmet (Fox) is a large...I put on a large shoei, LoL i could barely get it off my head, then the XL was a big jump up and it fit like a glove!

Default RE: Shoei size

my helmets are shoei xr 1000 and my melons 58.5 cm or 23" i have a large and while perfect on fit
it has given a bit with wearing and is very slighty loose, my wife's is 55cm and she has the small helmet & good fit,
from your size you gave it sounds like you are slightly between the sizing like i was, so my advice would be go for the small as it may be slightly tight at first but it will definately give a bit, also another option is that
each helmet comes with standard cheek pads but there are two other sizes of pad available for each helmet size giving more flexability
eg/ size small, standard cheekpad is 39, the other options are 37 or 41 etc..
hope this helps [8D]
