Ive always wanted a nice red Shoei helmet to replace the old Bell that we have. Yesterday I came across a nice red Shoei on the internet and I was wondering how much it would be worth. It is a TZ-1 that has been used less than 10 hours. It has the original bag and no scratches. It was first bought back in early 2002 by someone that thought they would rdie more than they did.
Any numbers around how much it could be worth would be great. He gave me a price, but I want to see what other think. Thanks alot...

 

it really up to you what you think is a fair pirce this is an old model so you can find them on clearrance for just under 200 i wouldnt personally pay any more than 120 or so. i havent seen any used ones for sale so im dont know what to tell you they are going for but new price is around 200 so this will be a good judge of a fair price.

 

There is a reason stores won't take returns on used Safety equipment. I would advise against the purchase of a used helmet. You don't know what has been done to the helmet.

All that being said. I wouldn't pay more than $50 for a 4 year old used helmet. Arai recommends replacing your helmet every 5 years. And this helmet is coming up on 5 years.

 

ok, thanks. I may just go a buy a brand new one. He wants $100 and I was thinking around $80. Buying a new one is my best bet it sounds like. I was worried about buying it used and when he told me the age it got sketchy.
