I've heard the 700's are excellent helmets, whereas the 1000 is an overpriced POS.

(it is)

ACtually the old price was 229 now for 2008 prices have gone up and that helmet is 249. So I would say you got a nice deal.

Most all the helmets went up in price for 2008 due to the declining dollar and cost of materials.

March 15th is the deadline for Scorpion dealers to have this price changed or they lose their dealership.

My website already reflects these price changes but for the best prices you can always PM me.

As far as the 1000 being a POS.....its hardly that. The 1000 is based off the 700 which is based off the 400. For the best value you definately cannot go wrong with a 700 or 400 but if you want all the gadgets then the 1000 is right for you.

Any of the EXO models are still the best bang for your buck. I have a Suomy Extreme Gambler and the EXO's are very, very close in comparison IMO. Is the Suomy better? Most likely for fit and finish but the Scorpions do a very good job and are half the price.

I own a 1000. It's a POS for the price.

The vents are TERRIBLE, the shell is HUGE, and none of the features are worth paying extra for.

I could, and should have got an Arai for ~$75 more.

The 700 is an amazing helmet for the price. Its simple and does what a helmet is supposed to do butI'm gonna agree with SpecR on the 1000. To include the gadgets in the 1000 and keep cost somewhat down, they slacked a bit on overall quality. I can't say its a POS since I don't own one and have only borrowed one for a semi-short ride, but its obvious that they put too much focus on the stupid gadgets. The mini visor thing built in is a stupid idea. Scorpion makes photochromatic visors, including that stock would be 1000x better than that crappy little extra visor and wouldn't make helmet so damn big in the forhead area.

There is a reason Mladin will be wearing a 700 at Daytona...

Hopefully Scorpion will figure out their errors soon since they have some very respected pro racers now to participate in developement of future lines

Scorpion no longer has the photochromic visors for 2008.

I have some left in stock but thats it. Not sure why they did away with them for 2008.
