For race boots, I'm a big fan of Sidi. I have Sidi Vertigos that have been used on both track & street for years.

I have the smx-5's and they are not very comfortable as the sole is rock hard. Other than that I love them. I wear a size 11 1/2 regularly and the smx-5's where slightly bigger. I would recommend buying them a 1/2 size smaller than your normal shoe size.

Chris... which kind of boot are you looking for?? You have a good mix of boots. You want waterproof boots that wn't breathe well(not good for hot weather) or boots that will breathe but if it rains will get your feet a little wet(good for hot weather). A little more clarification would help, but Sidi's are one of the best.

I don't really care if their waterproof, I probably wont do much riding in the rain since I'm a beginner anyway. I bought the Teknic chicane boots and they where junk, looking for a boot that will give me the protection I need. I don't feel like wasting money on riding shoes.

Chris, there's a big differences between water proof boots. I purchase 2 pairs of Gaerne. One is waterproof and other on is Street/race boots. The waterproof one fits snugly and higher almost to the knee (less comfy) once I try on the race boots, the waterproof one sits in storage. I then sold it cheap to one CBRF member and he love them I assume since he was looking for rain boots. Don't buy rain boots when your intention is not rain riding.

I love my Gaerne GR-W race boots with GPS....no breaking in....
