I need something for a good price but a GREAT helmet (minimal wind noise, warm in colder weather and cool in summer time, no fogging!, etc..)
I think helmets like this only exist in fairy tales...

I got my HJC CL-SP off ebay for $113 new, they retailed for $180 at the time. I like it a lot, very comfy, not heavy, great visor system, and they make different shell sizes so if you have a small dome like me you dont end up looking like a bobble head.

Roof makes a good helmet as well as Icon. The only down side with Icon is the weight. I think it is a little heavier than most, but still comfortable to wear. When you look at helmets keep this in mind. IT'S YOUR HEAD, CAN YOU REALLY PUT A PRICE ON IT. If you are worrying about price should you really be riding?
You will find that the cheapest part of being a motorcycle rider is the bike itself. HA!!

I'm an old fart in the sportbike world (almost 40), pretty much have used everything out there. I personally like the Shoei RF1000. Alittle bit more than most but worth it. I picked up a RF1000 Diablo on line for $210, they normally go for $300+. Great venting, very easy shield changes, and good at very high speed. I have never skimmped on brain buckets, you get what you pay for.

I've got a HJC AC-11 now and I hate it. I have to wear ear plugs as the wind noise is horrible. Also the anti-fog shield fogs up really bad. I'm looking at getting a Shoei RF1000. I have only read good things about them. Find one online and you might be able to get last years colors for a pretty good price.

I've only ridden Arai's cause thats what fits my head best...I've only ridden Honda cause well....I think we all know why... but I'd say your best bet is go to a dealership and theyll let you try on every helmet they have....and I know at the riverside triumph dealer in somerville they give 15percent off all arai's and getting a solid color drops the price like woseph...Good luck

If I send my helmet to Arai (through their online support) anyone now how long I can expect it to be gone? It's goin to PA and Im in Boston. Just needs the black trim on the bottom rim of the helmet.
