Default Is my leather jacke too big?

I am 6'1 and 165 lbs, and I bough a size euro 58 alpinestars leather jacket. When I ride, it bunches out to make me look 5-6" fatter. Looking fat isnt my problem tho, is it fitting right? Any comments are appriciated, thanks.

All I look for with any of my gear is that it's comfortable -- well as comfortable as motorcycle gear can be. If the pads are covering your shoulders, elbows and back then I'd say you're o.k.

If the coat is loose and isn't zipped into matching leather pants, in the even of a crash, it could slide up or most likely the pads wont stay in the right place. Unfortunately, by the sounds of your dimensions, to get a good fit you will need custom leathers. 6'01" and 165lbs is a tall skinny dude. Your problem will be finding a jacket that has long enough arms, but isn't too big through the torso. Another option is to find someone that alters leathers and see if they can make it fit a bit more snug.

fit shouldn't be comfy, should be snug and you stretch your leathers to fit.
pads should be where they go and not move.

leather shouldn't be moving much around you. like if it gets all parachuted then it's too big.
if you fall, and the leather isn't snug, then it will rub against your skin...and will look just as bad as road rash, without the road debris in your skin.

yes, your jacket is too big.

Just ordered a size 56, should be here by the weekend. Hope it fits. I dont knwo If I can go down to a 54 because of the sleeve length. If this 56 doesnt fit then I will just order a 54. Thanks for you comments everyone, any others?

I am 5'11" 155 and a 52 fits pretty good. I wish it was a little snugger in the chest but it isnt loss. The arms are the perfect length. And the length only goes a little past my belt line. I think jackets are not really suposed to be longer than that anyways? It looks a little small but it fits nice and the arms are long enough. The jackets were not made for little sh*ts like us. How long is everyone elses jackets?

Well from what I've heard, its not uncommon for the jacket to just barely cover your belt line.

I also have had a huge problem finding gear that fits; 6'3"-ish 170lbs. Currently I wear a Teknic Lightning 2pc size 44(US sizing, not sure off hand euro sizing), and it fits amazingly well. I had the pant legs lengthened ~2-3" at the cuff, which helped comfort a lot. The jacket also fits surprisingly well when zipped to the pants. Not loose at all, actually fits rather tight and has ample sleeve length. I took out the factory "armor" and now wear Velocity Gear Full Armor (Large, 7 plate spine protector).
