Always go leather. If you're going to shell out money for riding jeans, might as well buy leather. It'll protect you much better.

I have picked up kevlar lined jeans for $35 on ebay. They are Draggin brand. They are better than regular jeans, but not leather. I have seen pictures of them that people had on when they went down. The jeans are shredded, but the kevlar liner held. The purpose of any safety equipment is to save the wearer, not for the garmentto survive the acciedent. One time use.
I am honest with myself and know I won't wear leather around town. I have textile riding pants that I wear over jeans in the winter.
Leather comes on for trips.

leather is a little to hot for me.. i stick with textile riding pants with the leg and knee armor from icon. If i was doing tracks / racing then yeah i'll hit up the leather gear.

I have a couple pairs of the shift brand kevlar jeans and they are triple stitched at seams and the knees are layered and also they have stretch panels on the back at waist so when you lean forward the top stretches and not the whole pant and one in the crotch so when you are riding and get hot you can open your knees apart and air will flow to your crotch in the smal stretch panel and vent in there. I have never crashed in mine but compared to regular jeans they are made better but not leather. I am not going to ride around town in leather or to a friends house to grill out and be stuck in leather pants so my kevlar jeanswork for me. All over the internet you hear people say I don't go to the grocery without my full suit and people who don't wear every piece of gear known to manare squids but honestly they must not go out much because I almost never see a person in full leather around town! Don't get me wrong it is way safer but people are not practicing what they preach so next time your out riding local you tell me how many have a full suit on.

^ True. Most likely, I would be the only person with the suit on.

I was recommended to BMW City Trousers when I asked about denim riding pants. They are very comfortable and have the leg and knee protection. Like stated, obviously leather is the way to go.
