a little help...
i am looking into buying some alpinestars leather pants and i came across these. i dont get my knee down or anything like that yet, but would like to have a "approved" pair of leather pants for if/when i do a trackday AND FOR riding around town for leg protection. so obviously, atleast at first.....the slider will stay virgin. but are these decent riding pants? most other alpinestars riding pants are over $300. there was another pair they had that were textile (mostly) AND leather, but i think i'd rather have the FULL leather pair.
also, do most people buy a size large enough to wear pants (jeans ect.) underneath the leathers or is JUST the leathers you're wearing? just curious if i should be getting a slightly larger size to be able to wear pants under it (incase i get somewhere and want to remove the leather pants) or should they be a snug fit?
little help please, thanks in advance!
here's what im thinking of getting soon....

Those are nice AS's. I have the Joe Rocket version and really like them. Wear them every time I ride. I also wear athletic pants under them. It's just gross not to wear something underneath. Because, sweating and such will leave them pretty nasty if you don't. Especially, since I wear them all the time. It would be like wearing the same pair of underwear all the time. Maybe that's something you do anyway. ;-)
haha thanks for the reply. so are those ok.........i mean, since i dont get my knee down? i dont really care for their other pants, i really like the look of those. but not trying to look "poser-ish" by riding around w/ knee sliders that are virgin. im sure you can remove them for everyday riding since they are replaceable, right?
just wondering if those are some pants that could suit me for everyday around town riding, and also be good enough for track days.......if i ever GET to, lol.

I wear those exact style. Yeah, I may look like a poser to some, but they are comfortable and safe. It's the only way to ride. IMO
...and "Yes" the knee sliders are removeable. Strong Velcro holds them in place. I just keep them on.

how much does the leather stretch? im nervous of ordering them online (no dealers of them nearby), b/c its a 2 week wait. i'd hate to have to return them and end up waiting 6 weeks total for another correct size to come back.
i know my gloves stretched a good bit. i plan on wearing something under the trackpants so i can remove them when i get to my destination.
do they stretch quitea bit after break in?

They will stretch. About an 1/8 of an inch. Not too much. I had to order mine too. I also had to return them for a smaller size. I'm glad I did, because they are perfect. It took about a weeks worth of riding to get them broken-in. You will love them if you get the proper size.
No prob. Those red/black pants will look great with your bike. A very good price too. I paid about $250 this past Summer for mine. I normally wear a 32" waist in jeans. But the Joe Rocket 32's a bit big. SO, I went down one size. SOmething to think about.

Yep. That should work. I prefer the two piece. I got the matching jacket that I can zip to the pants, (which I haven't done). Then my Sidi's just slip perfectly over the pants. Looks/feels comfortable.

i wear a 32 comfortably w/ a belt, so i went w/ a 30 so i can wear something underneath the leather pants.
