Can anyone confirm for me, for sure, that your insurance has covered your leathers and gear? I think my insurance, NationWide, is trying to get out of it. I havent actually spoke to my adjuster yet, but I spoke with my local agent, and he said its not. Then for some reason- some other corporate office yah hoo called me today to ask me all the same damn questions I told my agent yesterday, and he didnt think they were covered either. I do have full coverage, and I understand from others that my protective gearshould bwcovered. So, I just want to double check my facts, just incase I need it for debate.

As insurance is a contractual agreement, there would be terms and conditions specific to your insurance; hence there would be a section or clause outlining helmet, leathers any protective wear orclothing worn while riding and what is covered when damaged.
I'm from Australia and I'm certainly covered for damaged or stolen riding gear.

They should be. Who was at fault may play a part in this - but certainly if you are not at fault then it is the party who is at faults responsibility to cover ALL costs. Don't accept an offer until you feel all costs are covered. It costs them alot more to go to small claims court over it than it does just to pay you off by giving you the fair deal you deserve. Hang in there.

Your helmet should be covered....in the street accident I had, they gave me $200 for my helmet (replacement value based on the brand and model) the rest of my gear was not - that being gloves and a coat over what you'd expect for jeans and shoes.
good luck,
