Default Jersey Over Jacket?

...when the sun beats you down...

Does anyone ever ride with a light-colored jersey over their black riding jacket?

I have a black textile jacket that I'm not willing to ride without but it gets way hot in the sun! It's plenty cool at speed, but in traffic the sun beating down on that black material without any airflow is a drag. I also have a red/black/white Honda/Fox jersey that was gifted to me that is just a superlight nylon. I've never used it. I think it's the sort of thing you'd wear over motocross armor... not exactly your daily sort of apparel (or at least not mine). So I got the idea in my sleep last night to see if the Jersey fits over my jacket and it does, quite nicely, actually. So I'm gonna try it out.

I'm just wondering if anyone else does this to help cope with the summer sun and black riding gear.

Let me try to explain this again. I'm not saying that I'm wearing the jersey INSTEAD of the jacket. I am wondering if anyone who has a black (or other dark colored jacket) wears a light colored jersey literally over their jacket. What I'm saying is that I put on the jacket and then pull the jersey over on top of it. The Jersey is red and white and doesn't seem to get has hot in the sun.

Does anyone else do this?

That is the weirdest thing i've ever heard. I'm sure its easier with a textile.

But if your wearin a full 1.4 leather jacket like myself. I think it would be a little harder to fit somthin like that over it.

Weirdest thing you've ever heard? Do I get a prize for that? Maybe I'll start a revolution... The jersey is really lightweight nylon and fits quite well over my jacket. I tried it out the other day and it seemed more comfortable. While moving, it still allowed airflow through it and when stopped, it was thin enough that it didn't add significant insulation and I certainly don't feel like I warmed up as rapidly in the sun. Maybe it's weird. So be it, it seemed to work.

hey mang...why would you rather "sweat THEN bleed" when you can avoid it all together and instead, prefer to rather "sweat thAn bleed" hahhahaha j/k mang...

this is what i've experienced wearing all yellow gear with yellow bike and yellow skin...***** don't see you...

this is what i've experience with wearing all black gear...***** don't see you...

they just don't see us mang...

but safer the better...just make sure you see THEM and all the open holes in traffic and get there first, then to the next...just like frogger and you'll live!
