I am thinking of purchasing an Icon Mainframe Manic helmet. Does anyone know how good the quality of Icon helmets is? It fits perfect so that is not an issue. ie road noise, brand dependability, etc.

I had this helmet and I loved it. Wish I would not have sold it. The road noise level is very good. I have an HJC helmet now and compaired to the icon it is very loud. You will like the lid.....

Whats the noise like if you dont mind posting, icurrently have HJC as well and the noise blows and was wanting a new helmet with a lot less noise, also when turning your head on the highway does it feel like your head is going to be ripped off or is the ventalation pretty good? The HJC i got is pretty bad.

I too had an HJC prior to the Icon. It was the helmet that came with the bike so I didn't know much about road noise etc. I wanted a new one becaus the HJC had been dropped and I didn't want to take any chances of it failing to protect me. Anyway, I now know what road noise is! The Icon is night and day compared to the HJC. As far as your head being ripped off when turning side ways....no but it does give off a slight whistle every now and then. All in all...the Icon blows the HJC away for fit, noise, and comfort. IMO

I have an Icon Alliance helmet and love it... i have tried on several helmets and feel the Icon fits the best... actually all of my gear is from Icon, my jacket, gloves and leg armor and don't have any complaints... just my two cents...

I have an Icon Alliance
The fit is very good and the colos match my bike very well and is not to flashy.
But, having problems with the faceshield opening up when I do a head check at speeds >50.
