I've never used Rain X. I usually use Honda Spray and he works great. If I have lots of bugs on the Lid, I let the spray sit for a couple of minutes. It usually softens the bugs and allows for easy clean up. Also, some guys use polishes and sealants. I may try this next time I'm cleaning my gear.

Let me (us) know if you find a good solution! Try this site. I've heard - read - good things with these products.

Question about hair gel and helmets. Thanks to Mom's side of the family I'll never get thin hair...but I'm stuck keeping my hair really short or using gel to keep from getting too "poofy".

How do you gel users deal with helmets? For winter I've thought about a thin balaclava that's washable...any other tips?

For summer I guess i'll keep it short.

I don't even bother with hair gel if I'm riding, what's the point? If you must then sure use a balaclava, but I don't see how you're gonna keep your hair "styled" after you've got that on, plus the helmet on top.

Anyone have any suggestions on cleaning the visor, particularly the inside?
I have a fog coating and don't clean it often for concern about removing the coating. It needs cleaning now.

I just scrub my helmet with soap and water and then I'll wax it with Zaino. The main reason I wax it is because I noticed it's easy to clean the bugs off if it's waxed.

Plexus will defenently remove any coating. I did'nt know this and found out after cleaning my new face shield 3 or 4 times. I still use it but only on shield without coatings. Johnny
