Hein Gericke
Maybe this will help someone out that was in the same perdicament as me.
When looking for a good leather jacket i never found anything that fit right.
im 6'2, 197lbs in the morning, have a 42-44" chest, and a 34" waist. I couldnt find a find a jacket that fit my frame to save my life (excuse the pun).
To make matters worse, I didnt want to have to buy 2 different jackets to ride year round and i wanted leather (not comfortable with textile jackets).
Let me clarify, I could find jackets that 'fit'. Plenty of them, but they either were so tight around my chest and shoulders that i couldnt raise my arms above shoulder level and made me look like a poweranger, or they fit my chest fine but felt like i could smuggle a child to wherever i was going aroudn the waste. I then determined that leather motorcycle jackets were made with either 2 people in mind.
a. fortysomthings with a little extra 'tank padding'
or
b. 150lb guys my age that want to look like power rangers.
So about to give up and buy whatever was the best compramise I walked to the back, past the joe rocket crap and found a little secton full of Hein Gericke crap. They had only jacket that matched what i was looking for (they had some textile jackets aswell) fit perfectly. It has a back support belt built in that is adjustable with a zipper so adjusting the waist is no problem, it also has large air vents on both sides front and rear that open up to breathable leather mesh and openable arm vents also.
Couldnt be happier with it, ive been riding with it in this southern California summer heat with very little problem of overheating, especially for a black leather jacket. It also has a removable inner liner i have yet ot be able to use for the colder months. I have taken a ride up into the mountains with the liner out and the jacket stay's very warm with vents closed. its also pretty comfortable.
As for protection its double layered high quality leather all over, and has extra padding in all the important spots: elbows, shoulders, lower back, etc.
All in all its a very nice jacket, especially if your not a fortysomething with a little extra or a 20 year old power ranger. Only downside is the cost, I picked it up for $385, normal retail is $450. Kinda pricey but its a great jacket.

Do you remember the cargo pants fad a few years ago? I couldn't find jeans to save my life for a year or so...
I have a similar build, 6'0" 200 lbs, 34" waist, no idea on shoulders... and yes, most people 6'0" or about are not 200lbs, they're usually in the range of 160-180, so that puts you, and me in a thicker category than most. and I don't consider myself a big person by any means, I am 2" shorter, but if you look at the clothes that are typical, it's for taller, thinner. At least Jeans you might have a better shot, seems all the 34" jeans I find are dragging on the ground!
I think all the jackets make everyone look like a power ranger, regardless of whether they fit the clothes or not! Part of the charm... just rambling since it's late and can't sleep
