Default earrings with helmet

I guess this question might be more toward the ladies but anyway. I took the MSF course lastweekend and i tore my earlobe taking my helmet off due to my gauged ears. Are any of you out there riding with earrings or gauged ears like myself? And if so how the hell do you do it without bleeding hehe.

Take the helmet off real slow. I have 8 guage horseshoes in my ears and You just have to be slow taking it off. I hurt mine more putting my hemet on. Once I get it on i have to pull down on the padding by each ear otherwise my earings will hurt every time i move my head.

I have an industrial with 2 rings instead of the bar, and I just pull the straps out and move slowly.

I wear 6ga tapers all the time and forget about them when I put my helmet on. I remember them real quick when the helmet snags them and rips them out of my ears! Now I just take them out and stick them in my pocket until I get me some horseshoes.

LOL! Tapers are long and cone shaped. One end is pointed and the other end is whatever size that you want the holes in your ears to be. They are mainly used to stretch the holes to whatever taper that you shove through it. Horseshoes and bars are just steel or acrylic bars that are straight or bent in the shape of horseshoes. Most of them have threaded ***** that screw onto them to keep them on. Hope this helps to unconfuse you. I can try to find you some pics of some if that might help. he,he

hmmmm... so you make the holes really big with tapers? Why would one want big holes? I think I've seen bars before, but not too sure about horseshoes.

You use the tapers to slowly stretch the holes larger, that way you don't have to remove that much of your ear when you pierce it! Ouch! He,He Here are some pics to help you understand what they are. The horse shoes are also called circular barbells.
