I have a pair of draggin' jeans I picked up on ebay for about $50. I crash-tested them in a30mph lowside on a posted 10mph on-ramp. The jeans, and my knee, held up better than with regular non-kevlar reinforced jeans, but I wouldn't want to count on them in a more violent crash.

Bottom line is that you'll get more rash protection than with regular jeans, but they're a long way from armored leather or textile riding pants.

I've got a set of jeans off ebay ($35) they fit tighter that normal jeans. They are thicker. Plus the kevlar lining. Have not crash tested them, but like them alot, and fill more protected than regular jeans.
