Default A* Compression Shorts ?!?!?

With the 5000 mile road trip fast approaching, I started purchasing the ton of stuff needed for this trip (e.g. Cortech Luggage, Tires, etc...), and unfortunately they ha.ve those "impulse buy" things at checkout that show other things related to your purchase that you might be interested in. I clicked on one item and included it with my order but I'm wondering if it's a waste of money or if it actually helps? I don't have the extra chunkiness back there that some have built-in so after even a short amount of time buttock really starts hurting (shifting and switching cheeks helps minimally) .. I thought I'd just live with it until I came across this item.

Anyone ever us.e these? $50 a rip off?

Since polls don't work you can just give me a "2 cheeks up"
(: <= Happy Cheeks
or "2 cheeks down" ): <= Sad Cheeks
( * ) <= Cheeks b4 jail .. ( O ) <= Cheeks after jail (went ahead and said it before voodoo got his sayso in here)

Looks totally valid to me. I do a LOT of squats and lunges so I have built in padding. Under Armour works for me.

X - I ordered Under Armour shirt but not shorts might go get those in addition.

Spirit - I have a bottle of monkey butt but never used it. I have no problems with chaffing or sweating (as the description claims to cure); it's the soreness that's the issue. I'm sure that stuff does nothing for soreness, or am I wrong?

No, yeah, obviously it won't help with muscle compression or fatigue. But it will keep skin irritation and swelling down...gives the muscles underneath a fighting chance.

Can't really tell with those shorty shorts. You used to be a Beemer guy, maybe ask your old crotchety Motorrad friends for product ideas. 5k miles is even longer than it would take to ride my bike from UT to London...

Maybe a Corbin seat or something. I know guys swear by them.

They're all telling me to stop being a p*ssy and just ride
I told them thats easy to say when you got a touring bike thats already designed for p*ssies but they didn't take that too well [8D]

Already have the Corbin seat. It does help butt it's help in limited form .. let's say your in pain after 30 min's, the corbin helps extend the painfree period for another 30 min's but you're back on your own after that. I'm guessing we'll probably be riding 2 - 3 hours a stretch (about a tank of gas worth) so who knows, hopefully these shorts extend the comfort a little longer.

I'll let you guys know if they make any difference or not.

You cannot escape the fact that sport bikes aren't meant to be ridden for long distances. You eithr gotta deal with it or get another bike (2 bikes > 1 bike).
