Brake light

Just picked up a 1990 1000F.
1000F.
Rear brake light works fine, when front brake is depressed running light goes out.
Replaced with new switch, no change.
Any ideas???

Crossed wires between running-light and brake-light circuit. They should not be touching in any way. Trace each wire in each circuit and re-configure so they match wiring-diagram.
