yea. if there's a leak, oil sweeps to the bottom of the plug well. you can identify that easily

Hold the rubber diaphragms up to a strong source of light to ensure there are no splits or perforations.

i think he's referring to the carburetor diaphragms

The ones on the top of each carb that slide open to let more air inside?

yea. you can see it here. you can check it for any tear or damage.

Hi I'm just wondering what the suitable temperature on the temperature gauge should be on a reasonably hot day it was 30 degrees Celsius today and stopping in traffic a few times on a 60min ride the temperature gauge went just before they H mark but it was only just on the tip of the white spot still is that too hot for a 1999 CBR 250 RR or is that normal?

Yep, agree with cabaret. At home, run the bike till the bike gets hot , you should see fan stepping in or at least feel it.
If it doesn’t , when it’s cooled down see if you can move the fan blade with a soft prodder, if it’s stiff it’s probably due for replacement.
Also check wiring to side of rad where it goes into the temp sender unit that should create a contact when hot enough to operate fan.
