Default UK Petion

This website will explain it all

Motorcyclists Matter – to ensure that biker related questions are compulsory in the driving theory test

Responsible department: Department for Transport

In order to raise awareness of motorcyclists on Britain’s roads, Bennetts, the UK's No.1 Bike Insurance Specialist, is campaigning to ensure biker related questions are made compulsory in the driving theory test – who despite accounting for just 1% of road traffic, fall victim to over a fifth of all fatalities on the roads.
Did you know that motorists can currently pass without answering a single question relating to bikers? As many as 7,004 bikers and their pillions lost their lives between 1999 and 2010 and the biker casualty rate is currently a staggering 61 times greater than that of motorists. With questions currently selected at random, there is no guarantee that a question relating to the awareness of motorcyclists will arise in the current test format and this petition is set to challenge that

I was surprised when I did my car driving test more stuff about bikes didn't come up. Luckily my instructor was a TT fanatic so he was always watching out for bikes and drilled it in to me to keep an eye out. When it came to the test and the theory, not a word was said

Nice to know that he is doing that

I am licenced to drive/ ride anything froma 50cc scooter up to a 20 tonne truck and love it when people start the typical arguement is that your bike , isnt that dangerous until i tell them what i am licenced to drive and that car drivers are worst drivers on road and thats both sexes

I was driving a truck on a dual carriage byass and on a short bit about 600 yards between 2 roundabouts and knew next roundabout is always busy

any way had nothing in font of me until a car over took then pulled in front and carried on speeding away.

They got to round about before me of course and i made them think i was fully loaded and because they had pulled inf ront of me i hadnt got enough braking distance even tho i knew i had and was not even quarter full.

You should of seen them carpping there pants because they were so desprate to get on to roundabout so i wouldnt hit them up the ****.

Just shame i couldnt off seen there faces

The latest biker road campain (thi!nk bike . . see you tube for video) i have done that and lucky and it does hurt mainly little finger which is common and that bike was on last egs and got new bike out of which is cbr i have now and a nice injury claim paued out 2 weeks before xmas you so i made sure everyone i knew got a good xmas even bike shop owner and his mechanic who i have known most of life got £30 tip each.
