Triumph Daytona 675
So, I'm looking to get a new bike in the near future and was wondering if anybody had any info on the reliability and performance of the Triumph Daytona 675. I've been reading reviews online and they all say that it is an awesome bike. How does that relate to real world experience though. Do Triumphs have a good reputation for reliability? Just wondering if anybody had any experience with them.
Thanks.
Thanks.
It has gotten a lot better in the last 5-6 years. For awhile there they seemed to have let quality slip, but they have come back from that. They have a good rep for reliability and performance now. Not to mention the aesthetics on those thingsare awesome.
Here in the UK the 675 has been getting some bad press of late. There have been loads of owners complaining about the bikes drinking oil like its going out of fashion, and Ive heard of two that have eaten a valve.
Bike magazine did a test to see what they could find, and raced it round a track for 24 hours against a Gixxer750. The 675 was kicking Gixxer ****, until the 675popped a valve only a short time into the test.
Shame, as its a real looker.

They are pretty good bikes, but the overall reliability isnt as high as Honda, Suzuki, and Yami. However, they do have a 2 year manufactures warranty, as apposed to 1. It just all depends, but they are pretty decent bikes. High seat height and pretty foward and aggressive position though.
Check out the Triumph Speed Triple as well, awesome bike and loads of torque. Or take a look at the BuellFirebolt. They make it in a 900 and 1200cc. I ride an xb12s and its basically the same as theFirebolt, just differentplastics.

I got last months UK magazine that came witha dvd. They were doing runs with it and the fuel pump relay went out. They wired a house hold switch to it. Hahha
Last year the Triumph 675 was going to eat up the competition in the 600 class. Never happened. There has been some issues of valve timing and the resulting valve drops, really messes up your day and engine to have a valve drop. In the US the 675 were entered in the Formula Extreme class against other 600's and the best finish was around 20th place. Not a good showing. In defense of the 675 this was a non-factory team. I like the looks and everything about the Triumph but will keep my CBR600RR for a few more years and wait and see. Do love the English girls that model for Triumph! Represents the Union Jack well!
