Default HONDA VF 750 f HELP PLEASE

Hey, i recently bought a honda vf 750 1983 sport, when i bought it the carbs were off the bike but i re-fitted them after blowing thwe carbs out with a compressed air line, and re-set the float heights. when i put it back together it start first time but run for around 30 seconds then it stopped dead and will not re-start. or fire at all. but if u leave it overnight and then turn it over it'll sound like it fires once then it goes back exactly the same just turning over. i've replaced the sparking plugs, and their all sparking with a pretty good blue spark, theres plenty of petrol in it and the fuel pump i putting plenty of fuel into the cylinders. my thaught is electrical problem. does anybody here know what it could be n what i should look for?

thanks alot

Lee.

not electrical if you are cranking and getting spark.

Remember that engines need three things to run: air, fuel, and spark. The way you say petrol, you are probably not from the US, which means you are from outer space. I would first test your local conditions to make sure that there is oxygen in the air. Second, you said you have spark, therefore, it is most likely a fuel problem.

If you have compression and you know you have spark and it should be getting air then I seems that there is a problem in the carbs. Are you sure there is nothing in the tank that is blocking the fuel flow? That might casue the problem than go away after the fuel pressure dies off.

BumbleBee makes a point. One thing, I had an 85 VF1100S (V65 Sabre) that had a fuel cutoff valve that could only be seen and accessed by removing the seat. I don't know if your bike has a similar setup, but if you can't find a petcock try removing the seat and see what you find.
