Davideo's BMW
The curve up from the bottom shouldn't be any more drastic than the curve off the heads. The engine does a sort of step up once it gets to the transmission. I'll post a picture of the bottom later today.
The curve on the bottom of the tail is because that tail section kinda has hips that cover the top of the shocks. I think it would look awkward if I straightened off the bottom on this tail but I'll look again. I added some stripes on in MS paint that I'll post later.

You can see the step up I was talking about in the picture of the Ritmo bike. It is hard to get a good shot of it in the shop with the current exhaust in the way.
An idea of how to approach the paint. The stripes would wrap all the way around the back and kinda frame the exhaust even though my drawing doesn't exactly suggest that.

I made some progress on both bikes. I'll try to snap some pictures when I get home today. Meanwhile, I found this cool video interview of Shiroh Nakajima from Ritmo Sereno.

It seems I've done a lot since I last update this thread.
Modified and modeled the tail out of Styrofoam to build the fiberglass over.
Made a seat pan out of wood and Styrofoam to fiberglass together and then cut away from.
Took off a lot of the engine covers so I could remove the starter that needs rebuilt or replaced. (advice suggestions?)
Bought a new tank from the /7 series airheads.
Mocked up some rear sets from a set of GSXR rear sets I got on closeout from Danmoto for $40.
New Tank

Rear set mock up

With the exhaust for the Honda for kicks

Rear sets mounted with plywood templates for the aluminum pieces I need to make

I would need to make a mid pipe that tapers down to the same size as the header pipe and buy another one for the other side. I do like the way it look but I've already put a lot of thought into the undertail exhaust. Might do something like this on the CB 750 once these two projects are done.
