RE: Buell Blast
Depends on what type of bike you are wanting to ride. I personally think the Blasts are over-priced crap with a very low re-sale value. If you do decide to get one, get it used and take what I said into account when you negotiate price.
My advice, buy a regular street bike, 250-500cc of any brand; Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki. You should be able to find an older one for around $500. Buy that bike to learn on then upgrade to a "sport" bike or what ever style you favor. You can drop these bikes and do very little damage with very low repair costs.

The problem with the 250's is the power. Its so low its almost dangerous. I was looking at one for my wife, (if I can convince her to ride instead of being a passenger) The Blast is great as a starter bike, single cylinder with decent torque, good around town bike. Not much on the expressway, tops out around 80mph I think, but meh, still better than a 250 I say. If I were you I would look for at least a 500cc bike and stay away from the Enduro/Crossover bikes. They arent that good on pavement and also not great off road either.

I can easily do 110mph on my ninja 250. Do regular maintance on it and it'll last forever. There's tons of them and plenty of parts on ebay.

I agree... great bike... for learner, or around town... don't worry, it just a 500... if thats the range your looking for, and you like it.... They flat track 'em...I think, 60hp w/ expert tuning and parts. Prolly, one of the better thought out buell/ harley bikes.I was offerd a minter, for 1500$ cash one time.
