That does suck, it could have been park staff, since its high traffic they might clean the place up every few month and found it that way. We will get this going again, it's just not the same.

If someone along the west coast would get another one started and maybe move it a few states eastward before the Fourth of July 4-day weekend I might be inspired to do another marathon ride to help get it to the Midwest.

I'd meet you for the first leg.

Let's start a new thread when it happens.

I'll be glad to do my share when it gets closer to the Midwest as long as it isn't in the middle of January by then.

Read thru the entire thread. Very cool idea.

Basic problem I see is there aren't enough of you guys. I hear a guy in this state or that state wanna join but I don't think I've heard even two guys in the same state.

Second problem is winter. Aint no one riding in winter. And if there is one, there might not be another one willing near.

I want to join but before the next one starts I have a few suggestions to these "problems".

To battle the first problem, I'd say lets show this to a few other biking forums. This would increase the chances of the item moving and rapidly (not taking a month or longer for one move). We're all a big community, i'm sure everyone would be gun ho if they see it move once or twice a day in their neck of the woods.

Second problem could be resolved if we make the goal of it going back to whichever coast in ONE season of riding. With more biking forums joining in, the goal could be for it to move once a week or sooner. And with more people it wouldn't have to move too far each time.

I like the idea of a hand off as well. This way you meet someone new with which we all share our love of riding (also check out their bikes hehe). This will take more effort and communication especially if its two people from different forums so its an option for those willing.

I'd definitely say it would be easily doable if we had 10 or 15 forums join. I'm sure some of you are already on other bike forums, wouldn't be hard to broadcast this.

I'm in NYC, i could take it to the tip of the island!!

ah but you see it already made it from the east coast here, it just got stuck from WA to CA.

Edit: I'm removing all the rush and engraving it hoping that it will prevent someone from throwing it away. When I say engraving I don't mean professionally...
