Default ZX-10

Anyone with any experience with these? I was at the local shop today buying some riding gear, they only deal in suzuki and Kawi's, but they're prices on gear is waaaaay lower than the honda shop up the road, not to mention the guys at the honda shop are a bunch of tossers. Anyway, bought some gloves and pants and was looking at the zx-10, man, sharp looking bike, I sat on it, great ergo's, like the styling....never really considered a Kawi, but those things look sharp. Anyone ridden one?

I have not, but they were winning all the liter roundups in the motorcycle mags. This year was the year of the Trump 675 and the ZX-10. I dont think you could go wrong with any of the jap big 4... although dont guy a Gix, just because.

I got to ride my buddies and it was surprisingly comfortable. Anyways flip sorta knows whats up. In the 06 masterbike shootout the zx10r has won it a lot in the last 5 years. This year it was the kawi the daytona and the rsv1000. But flip, no suzuki? Cmon now.

Motor Cyclist just name the Daytona the best overall bike, the GSX-R750 the best sportbike (CBR1000RR second), and the Kawi 650R got best bang for the buck with the SV650 in second.

Good for triumph. That bike is so amazing in every way. Now they need some race teams.

Interesting. I went to both shops. There is a Honda dealership and a Suzuki/Yamaha dealership right next to each other out here. The guys at the Honda were very helpful and insightful, unlike the guys at the Suzuki/Yamaha place. Thats partially why I made a decision to go with a Honda. If the people who sell those bikes act like that, then can go fornicate themselves. Sorry to go off tangent.

I did a 250 mile test ride on a 2005 Kawi zx-10. I liked it. The only reason why I did not buy one is that the Honda has a bit more low end grunt then the kawi. It makes all its torque towards the top end. I like bottom and mid torque. I like how light that bike was too. The more research I did and test riding some bikes I chose the Honda. For 2 reasons. 1-- I had a cbr1100xx with 91,000 miles on it. Did absolutely nothing to it except your normal maintenance. 2-- You cannot beat honda refinement. They dont seem to miss the small details. So you cant go wrong. That kawi is tempting though.

I agree with Marine. I think Honda always makes a solid performer every time. I wish I knew more about the Kawis. I think they are a lot more hit and miss...depends on the year.

The zx-10 that you want is the 04 cus that is the year before they de-tuned them. my friend has one tuned with a slip-on and power commander and its making 170 at the wheel that thing is absolutly nuts. it does 4th gear wheelies like its nothing. And when we are at the track its nearly impossible to keep up with him.

...till he highsides exiting a turn. No one ever needs that much power, thank god for the middleweights.
