I say anything less than full gear is a squid. Not to the same level as the guy on doing wheelies down any street but still a squid. The reason being is that we all know what happens when you go down, if you ignore that and take a chance by not gearing up then youre a squid.
Not saying you're forever a squid but just for that ride. I've squided it from time to time as I'm sure everyone else has and for those times I was a squid. I'm sure I'll be a squid again sometime hope no ones takes my pic. But I severely limit my squid times to those when it absolutely cannot be avoided.

squids also ride to the local gas station in a crowded area with no gear on and pose next to their bike to pick up chicks
squids also spend more time washing and polishing than riding
squids keep revving at red lights
squids ask you how fast have you been, meaning on the street
squids stretch bikes out that don't plan to ever be on a drag strip
squids take a 10 second bike and bolt enough chrome to it to put it in the 12's

There is no such thing as a "squid" as reference to his apperance. It's the actions of a rider.
So the pick above of the arian brother with no lid or jacket rides home without incident is he still a squid? I think not.
If Nick Hayden rode a wheelie thru an intersection in full gear and ran into a mini van would he be a squid? I think so..
According to most, the lack of gear is a squidable offence. I say if you think that and your not wearing track approved one piece leathers, boots, full gloves and a top of line helmet. then your a squid!!!
I really don't care if someone else is wearing less gear then they should, it's there problem if they go down and get road rash not mine. There not breaking any laws unless its a helmet mandatory state.

Saw a squid today...no helmet, shorts, tshirt, FLIP FLOPS, and to top it off he does a wheelie right next to me...and then he almost wrecked when he broght it down....and the sad thing was his bike was identical to mine....
