The HID are worth it imo. I have aimed mine as well, and even then i still get flashed a lot. They are very bright, but since i ride in the country a lot, i like to be able to see if something is coming out of the ditch at me.

So if HID is so bright, how come it isn't blinding to other motorists? The only thing I can think of is the way the light is refracted in the housing. Also, since they're brighter than halogens, shouldn't they use a special housing and not just the factory light bucket? I'm not saying this just because of the high temperatures, but also because of the optical characteristics of a high output light source.

Some of the HID bulbs have a metal coating on top to help spread the light.
