Don't give up on the X-Box. Keep calling and complaining about it. That is what a friend of mine did and on his 4th phone call they agreed to have it fixed. He paid shipping and waited nearly a month to get it back, but they did. He mentioned something about how common this problem is and why hasn't a recall been issued...

Might as well try calling more- cant hurt!
