Xbox 360 price drop.....which one to get?
so the "arcade" version dropped to $199 bucks, and the Premium version dropped to $299.
i have an xbox currently that is crapping the bed, i have about 10 games, (Ninja Gaiden Black, Halo 1+2 that i really like) but i would like to be able to play them....is that the only thing i get for the extra $100 bucks? backward compatibility and a 60gb HD? is there any way to get BC on the arcade but hooking up my own HD or something like that? fill me in will all that both machines can do Xbox Gurus.

Arcade version comes with a wired controller, the premium has a wireless. Other than that I think that's all you get. You might be able to get a premium with an xbox live bundle so you get like 6 mos of live and a headset included for cheaper than it would normally cost.

OK to piggy back on your topic...I have an older one that is crapping on any game that I play. All of them freeze up. I have only been able to play the new GTA for 3 minutes and Madden for 1 game. I called Microsoft and they say that it is $99 to send it in and fix. Should I just buy the arcade version for $100 more and count my losses on the older one. I have a hard drive about 30 games and 3 wireless controllers.

Core is $200, Premium is $300.
Core comes with wired remote and no HD. Premium comes with wireless and 60GB HD. You can buy a core and add a 20GB HD for $100, but then you have a premium system with 40GB less storage and a wired remote. Get the premium.

Oh forgot to mention, the backwards compatibility isn't anything that they add to the system other than the hard drive, the original xbox had a hdd so if you have an xbox 360 without a hard drive then you wont be able to play games designed to run on a system with one.
