Default WTF does the "L" mean ?

whats up everyone i got a quick question that i think i already know the answer to. while reading a issue of "TWO" a european motorcycle mag i saw a article about a guy just learning to ride. well on the front of his bike there is a white piece of paper with a big red "L".. is this a way of letting people know that this guy is learning to ride ? basically saying that he isnt licenced only a learners permit? anyways sorry if its a dumb question just was bothering me so i thought id ask .. thanks !

Havoc, you got it right, you can ride a bike on a provisional licence ( learners permit) once you have done some compulsory bike training CBT then you can go out on the road with your L plates, you then have 2 years to take your full motorcycle test.

dang - I looked down to see if anyone had gotten in from England yet...

the other thing with L's is when you're driving you're supposed to watch out for them... they figure that new riders/drivers do extra silly things. Honestly I thought it was the otherway around when I tried driving. You are a bunch of loons on the road

Very organized caos... but I didn't understand the caos... and it took some time getting comfortable shifting with my left hand.

yea we got some crazy *** ppl over here . you almost have to watch them instead of the road. there has been plenty of times if i hadnt been lookin @ the driver and noticed a body motion i wouldnt have been able to get outt athe way when they lane chnaged without looking or signaling !

what ! you mean they control the size of the bike he /she can ride also ! ? wow i guess that would stop all the newbies from getting their permits and hopping onto a new 1kRR and killin themselves .... but i dont think i like the idea of the govt telling me that , it should be my choice. oh well i bet you guys probably have lower mortorcycle fatality rates then us
