Compiz>Vista
Compiz isnt an OS so it cant be greater than Vista lol. It may be > Aero tho lol.
Vista isn't an OS either more lik.e a POS don't get me wrong...i liked xp pro a hell of a lot...and the new server 2008 is lik.e vista...without all the BS...now that wasn't bad at all...but me personally i'll just stick to my open source OS until i actually need windows for something useful that WINE can't handle

I run Vista with a VM running Ubuntu. Runs fine with a 3Ghz AthlonX2 and 3GB RAM. Not slow, not laggy, just don't install Yahoo toolbar, google toolbar, your moms toolbar, your brothers toolbar, and stop visiting pr0n sites and it will run fine. I couldn't tell you how many computers I have to fix, friends, co-workers, family....that are filled with spyware. My computer doesn't have spyware, why not? b/c I don't install stupid ****.

I wanted to see why everyone is sooo.....'oooh, Linux, let me suck your c*ck', but its just the same OS as everything else, just depends on what you want to do. You can: get your email, create office docs, browse the internet, watch movies...and that pretty much sums it up for the average user. I've used OS X, I've used Ubuntu, but they are all just an OS that give you an ability to do what you want. Don't give me **** about security either, I don't have virus's and never have had an issue, I still have my same file base that I was running on windows 98 and ME on almost 10 years ago. If you know how to configure your router, you have WAY less chance of any 'hackers' since everyone is so damned scared of them.

Can't tell me **** about M$ because I have 35+ users (mostly XP, 4-5 on Vistathat's b/c users are dumb and dont need change), 4 servers (one on SBS2K3R2, other 3 on 2K3) which I don't have problems with. M$ might be the big corporate bully, but they know what they are doing. Only 2 things I hate from M$ is Sharepoint and ISA, god I hate ISA with a passion.

I blame the user.

/rant off, sorry for the rant, but I'm so fed up with people saying, vista this, vista that without even having any experience or knowledge of the application, ive used it since it was available for volume users and I love it. if its so damn slow, turn off indexing. or freaking google for once.

like a shirt of mine says, 'Must be User Error' lol.

I hate window servers, sorry but they dont compare to FreeBSD etc. And IIS is a joke. I like Vista too, been running since the betas. Windows is good for the masses, as the masses are generally to stupid or too lazy to use anything other than windows lol. And yea Bill Gates is a great business man he has the world on the hook n has n will continue to reel em in for years too come lol.

well, im not a linux admin, so i cant say anything about FreeBSD. IIS, lol. It works, but I would much rather have a LAMP server as opposed to windows. and yes, PEBKAC.

SoK, I thought the same thing until I started using n learning about it. BSD is l.ike 3rd or 4th down from the original UNIX. Way higher on the ladder than any linux distro. One reason its so hard to beat as a server OS.

yeah, i had just looked it up, part of the berkley software distribution...hence bsd, i read that before and ive always rolled unix and linux into one general category despite knowing they are different. i also happen to pretty much roll os x into that same category since its unix based.
