RE: windows 2000 help
Upgrade to vista?
If you can't get into windows then really the next "best but not really the bestest" thing to do is to do a recovery if you have the 2000 CD. I avoid recoverys like the plague. Even if it gets you into windows you most likely to have a bunch of other things start messing up because it overwrites newer files and you'll get errors galore. If it were me I'd just reformat if windows dont load properly. Even if it only loads in Safe mode id still reformat because the time it would take to find the problem I'd be done reinstalling everything.

Its the company computer. Just for internet and quicken books. Its got tons of malware on it, so i started deleting ****. Worked fine and even restarted a couple of times and it loaded.
Now today it doesnt want to. I finally got it in safe mode and deleted a ton with ad-aware. Still doesnt want to log on. All his business work is on the hd so we need it to run.
Xp..........Vista!!!!!!!! Hhhahahahaha. This is an ollllllldddddddddd HP pavilion. Rockin with an Athlon 850MHz and 256mb of PC100. LOL
2000 is the only windows I've never used, so I dont know any commands or get arounds.

Get ready to cringe... I've seen XP on a computer half that slow... doesn't mean you should do it.
So the answer is, put the drive in another computer and pull the data you need. Reformat and reinstall. Don't waste your time trying to figure the rest of the crap out.
