Default Why tape up lights??

When I see pics of people's bikes at a track they tape up every light. Head lights, blinkers, hell even the rear brake light. Why??

so the plastic doesn't shatter and fly apart, sorta like we duct tape our windows before we put plywood over before a hurricane, so the glass is more or less all in one place if it breaks.

I totally knew that.

Do you get in trouble if you wreck and spill fluids?

you should put watter wetter in your bike so if you spill it wont be on the track all day ( like coolant would)

http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/redline3.htm
"Water Wetter is a unique wetting agent for cooling systems which reduces coolant temperatures by as much as 30°F"
Looks like some good stuff!

A lot of tracks require you to tape them over so that if they shatter, they don't leave debris all over for them to clean.

I just rode the bike for the first time in a month since this tracking process began. I put 1/2 bottle of water wetter and the rest distilled water in it and it ran in the 170's here in the heat. Not too bad.
