Its actually New Zealanders with all the sheep, but I think the same jokes get told over there about us.

Problem here, Steve is that with our system, if you collide with one of these fence-breaking freeway hopping morons and wreck your bike, there's no money from the road accident fund for you.....!!!(has to be another vehicle to qualify for medical costs)
Sueing them won't help either, so if you don't carry your own insurance, you're well and truly screwed.
He, on the other hand, will probably want to sue you for lack of earnings, pain and suffering etc.
Whole system sucks.

Gee, the whole insurance thing would seem to be flawed unless you stay in the built up city areas then ? to dodge all the fury friends

We have no fault insurance ... that we get with our vehicle rego payment...
( not the full comprehensive which we buy as an addition to normal cover that comes with our registration fees )

I am not exactly sure , but I think even drunk drivers here that are injured get covered by our no fault system here and receive payment for being layed off work injured ( like a sickness payment) , plus medical bills are covered and other things too...
