Default Who knows a lot about ford trucks?

Will a 97 f150 motor swap simply into an 89 bronco? (wiring harnesses line up, same ecu, etc etc) I think i can get the 97 ecu, but i don't know about the harness?

Any help? Orlinks that will help me research?

I assume you are going into a full size bronco? It should be a pretty easy swap though all in all, add the main harness and ecm. You will probably have to do a touch of wiring for some of the sensors, otherwise should be pretty easy. Other thing to make it easier, you could just go to a carb setup.

your comparing apples to oranges 4.6 vs 5.0. it can be done but the 97 has either the 4.6 v8 or the 4.2 v6. im sure itd fit, the 4.6 is way wider than the 302 so modifications will need to be done to the motor mounts. i was told once that the 4.2 will bolt up to a trans off of a 302/351.
96 was the last year for the 5.0 in the f150. 97 was the rounder body style brought out in jan of 96 labeled a 97. totally differnet truck. even the bolt pattern on the wheels are different.

no ford bashing jokes yet? Size wise it will fit, but atleast the harness and ecu will need to be changed.

I doubt the Ford Modular overhead cam engine would swap easily to an old Bronco. The two engines are very different animals. You are better off going to a auto parts store and buying a crate motor.
