Star Wars had some modicum of coolness....but Star Trek.

I loathe how they used to always start out Star Trek with..."Captain's Log...4.002B...X19...16 dash 5".

Like...what the f*** does all that mean, and who the hell cares anyway.

They have to be the worst... I can almost understand the Star Wars people - I actually liked the movies...

Lord of the Rings geeks are the worst. All that fantasy, magic, hobbit, troll bulls**t. Who the f**k cares. Was it a good book???How the f*ck should I know, do I look like some lazy, sitting-at-home little dou**bag that has all the f**king time in the world to read about this nonsense and then wait for 3 freaking gay movies to come out to watch orks acks and icks or whatever the helll they are called. yeah that makes sense, I'm gonna play with my f**king Frodo doll while watching a f88king movie about ineer or middle earth midgets that get a ring and don't know what to do with it. F**k that. And why does Orlando bloom play every annoying role on the planet? that guy bugs my s**t. Pirates3 sucked, In Troy he was an a-hole, in everything else he sucked, he sucks sucks suckssucks........let me catch my breath, my tirade isn't over. And why on earth would they have to make three f**king movies about the same god**m thing. Jesus Christ at least Rocky went to Russia and gave Paulie a slutty robot...Now that is fine f***king cinema.

Trekkies win hands down. There are people out there that have actually learned the alien languages. That's geekiness at its best!

 

I has to add the Lord of the Rings/Fantasy geek, because of Fishdaddy's fine rant, and Tennessee made a good point about learning the language. My step daughter bought my wife a farie statuette and there was some "elven" writing on it. My step daughter proudly annouced that she could read it...that's what fantasy geeks do, they learn to speak elf and roll mutli-sided dice (at least they used to...I guess now they play fantasy video games).

 

I'd say Star Trek. Everything else has a lot more depth (books, games, specials,etc.) so I can see (and know) how people get in to it.

Star Trek is just a tv show that wasn't very entertaining (the early movies were good though)

actually star trek does have video games, books, tv specials, conventions and a very strong cult following. also on which they expanded from the original series to star trek: the next generation , star trek: deep space 9, Star trek: voyager and finally star trek :enterprise.with each new incarnaion drawing in a new generation and further expanding the popularity. S.T has survived 40 years popularity.inany given country on any given day you can find a episode of star trekbeing shown.

spike tv shows TNG,DS9,voyager. the G4 network (computer geek/gamer channel) brought back the original star trek. so to say that star trek isnt as in depth as other fan favorites as star wars.. is just not true.

haha and yes im a geek but no i dont dress up in costumes and goto conventions i just enjoy watching it. i also enjoy watching the discovery channel too
