Maybe you guys can help Dizzie and I unscientifically settle a debate. I think Kobe is betterwhile he thinks Kobe stinks and Allen Iverson is a better basketball player. My question is: who would you rather have on your team or who do you think is the better of the two? This is one or the other so please no posts like..."neither one" or..."Michael Jordan" or..."who cares". If you have an opinion on the two, please help us, if not, please don't comment. Thanks everybody!

 

AI has more heart then anyone in the game, he leaves it all on the court everytime he plays, and he may have the best crossover ever.I do however think his numbers are somewhat inflated just because of how many shots he has taken over his career, and to be honest his % is not all that stellar ".421 fg% for his career. That being said i think Kobe is a better player, i think he is more well rounded, i dont really have any facts other then his fg% is higher career and he has 3 rings, i just think he flat out has more talent. I dont know that i would want either of them on my team if i were an owner, but we will see how Kobe is at the end of the year, he is learning what team means now i think (perhaps another small factor in the argument).

You are making a great point. Iverson has actually been at a disadvantage his whole career because the 76ers never gave him a number two option. He has had to be the ONLY option for ten years, and that does obviously inflate his numbers. Kobe was a ball hog for many years because he never played college ball, and never learned the team concept. You can't tell me at Lower Marion high school, that he had a bunch of guys as good as him to play with. Kobe has matured though, he makes his team better, he plays TWO sides of the court, and please never doubt HIS heart and determination. I think AI is great, but again, Kobe is better overall...that is my opinion (but it is a great one).

 

I dont doubt Kobe's heart but as a spectator you can see AI's beating on every pulse, they guy never quits. Kobe was somewhat a hog but you have to remember when he was winning rings Shaq was still getting 20 or so touches a nite too, so he wasnt jacking up nearly what AI was. Oh and Speaking of Shaq i will not get into the discussion of him and Kobe and winning without Shaq etc.... im sure as a Bryant fan you have heard enough of that already ............anyhow getting off your topic and i apologize, i basically agree with your post and Kobe is still better.

Defiently Kobe. Look at the rings he has. Sure AI is a great bball player but come on I think i could get close to 30points a game if they let me shoot the ball 30 times. Kobe on the other hand has a better team to play with and look where they are...in alot better position in the standings then AI was with the sixers.

Kobe is nice, a bit of a tude, needs to play dee,AND AND ANDwhen someone drops 60 on him don't talk about Arenasnot having a conscience shooting the ball. Man up, shut up, play dee, andwhen you get smoked take it with a smile. At the end of the day Iverson for his Career has scored more points, more assits, and more steals in fewer games than Kobe. Not bad for being 6' maybe.
