I pay $200 a year myself for comp on my 87 cane, jeep, and boneville. I may only be 26 but I also have it listed with my cars and house, so they cut all my rates by 20% to begin with. Living in SD has some advantages (I can only name a few) but our insurance rates are CHEAP.

I've paid max of $210 a year full coverage on my '02 F4i. I may drop some coverage soon as it's 5 years old but it's still in great shape and would cost more than $200 to fix it if it was wrecked. State Farm is good to me but I know there are cheaper companies out there.

I'm confused... did you just say you paid 82 bucks a year for your 05 600rr DC?

Anyways, I pay 240 bucks a month for full coverage
$82 a year if for liability now. Hell, I think ever bike out there has some deal where you pay around 70 bucks for a new one. You might be paying the 70 bucks for a long time, but what's the difference in paying for a new bike or insurance you can't use. If you buy a new bike for about 10k and it's stolen or you total it in a few weeks or a couple of years... what will your next insurance bill be. I can see it going from 1200 a year to 2400 in the blink of an eye.

I would never give up full coverage you go down once and it almost considered totaled and what if you get in a wreck with someone who dont have insurance then your screwed. I only pay 332.95 for full coverage on my 05 1krr and when i turn 25 in Aug it going to go down to 225.50 Ive got insurance through state farm have for 8 years now.

I can't plug state farm enough.
+1!!! They rate their motocycles on cc amount, not style. $76/month for full for me personally. And not just the required. 300/100/300.

NEVER is when to give up full coverage. if you get in a wreck and you end up in the hospital while the person at fault is uninsured, and you dont have any coverage for medical either, think about how screwed you'd be.

theft coverage is for obvious reasons, bikes can be stolen in the blink of an eye almost so this coverage is a must have IMO.

all the other stuff, same thing applies. you dont wanna wreck your bike, and have to go buy another new one out of your own pocket plus the accessories for it.

State Farm is the one company I've heard lots of people speak highly of too.

with my record, state farm probably wouldnt even insure me without a payment like $600 a month or something knowing my luck.

$87 per year on the 02 gix 1k. Full coverage doesnt make sense to me. Save up your money and buy out right. Full coverage for some of the younger people on this board with new bikes is so outrageous. In 2 years of paying full coverage (for some, not all) hell you could afford another bike. Just my .03

I have State Farm with full coverage, and it costs me $33 per month. I ride a '93 600f2 though. I get discounts because I have my car on the policy, my wife's car, plus our house through them. I would NEVER drop full coverage just because (like it's already been said) if you're in a wreck and you have to go to the hospital, you know that money will be there to pay the bills. Let your insurance company do the hard work of suing the *** off the other person!
